SYMPTOMS:
Unable to get a gamepad to work with LEGO Star Wars.
RESOLUTION:
You can use a gamepad with LEGO Star Wars. A game controller with 7 or more buttons and at least one thumbstick is recommended.
Make sure any gamepad that you will use is plugged in before running the game, and only unplug the gamepad after exiting the game. If you unplug a gamepad during gameplay, you may need to force quit LEGO Star Wars to leave the game by pressing Command -option-esc.
Before using a controller during gameplay, you may need to calibrate it. When you reach the game's main menu, rotate any thumbsticks that the controller has so that they reach their maximum value in every direction. You should also press each button once.
You will then need to go into the Controller Options for the game and setup each button to a choosen action.
We have successfully tested LEGO Star Wars with the following gamepad controllers:
Belkin Nostromo n45 Dual Analog Gamepad
Gravis Destroyer Tiltpad
Gravis Eliminator AfterShock
Gravis Eliminator GamePad Pro
Gravis Xterminator Force
Logitech Cordless RumblePad 2
Logitech Dual Action
Logitech RumblePad 2
Logitech WingMan Action Pad
Logitech WingMan Cordless Gamepad
Logitech WingMan RumblePad
Macally iShock
Macally iShock II FFB
Microsoft SideWinder (10-button)
NYKO Air Flo EX
Saitek P2500 Rumble Force
Saitek P880
Thrustmaster FireStorm Dual Analog 2
Thrustmaster FireStorm Dual Power 2
Thrustmaster FireStorm Dual Power 3
Thrustmaster 2-in-1 Dual Trigger Gamepad
Additional controllers may work with the game, but not all buttons and controls may work unless you use additional software provided by the device manufacturer or by 3rd parties. The controllers listed above function using the built-in Mac OS X drivers. They do not require any device specific or 3rd party services.
