C&C: Generals - availability?

Was this game discontinued for mac? I can't find it on either Aspyr's or MacSoft's website, and it costs over $100 on Amazon. It's too bad since I recently saw Generals 2 was announced and wanted to get back into the C&C franchise on mac.

 

What happened?

I was wondering the same thing. Will Generals work on Lion? Back in the days i played a lot of Generals on Snow Leopard.

I saw on Amazon it's been listed as a collectable since it's been "discontinued by manufacturer." Feels bad, man.

It may come to the App Store just like Prey and Doom 3 just did.

I sure hope so - it doesn't make any sense not to bring it to the App Store since there's no cost of production or distribution. I suspect there's some legal issues going on since MacSoft got bought up, and Generals 2 is being developed by Bioware. Who knows how EA's army of lawyers handles these things.

 

The same thing happened with Halo - it's basically impossible to find a legit copy of Halo for mac, even though the MacSoft port was top-notch. Why wouldn't Microsoft let them sell it on the App Store? It probably goes back to controlling market shares or whatever . . .
