Mouse icon becomes invisible during game play

Happy to send you my system specs or help you find the issue. My system specs are:
2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
8 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024 MB
Seems like a fun game until my mouse icon vanishes. All but impossible to navigate troops after that hits.
