KOTOR for the iPad/iPhone FAQ

Q: What iPad version do I need to play KOTOR?
A: KOTOR for the iPad is supported on the iPad 2 or newer.

Q: What iOS version do I need to play KOTOR?
A: KOTOR for the iPad will work on iOS 6 or newer.

Q: What iPhone type do I need to play KOTOR?

A: KOTOR Universal will run on the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5S, and iPod Touch (5th Generation).

Q: Is KOTOR for the iPad localized in any other language other than English?
A: Text and subtitle support for French, Italian, German, and Spanish.  It is required that your iOS language is changed to the desired language in order for it to be enabled in game.

Q: When I try to move with my character, my hand is in the way. Any way around this?
A: You can move your character with your hand gestures from nearly anywhere on the screen. We like to position our hand to the far left or right of the screen, so we can see the classic Star Wars environment better.

Q: Are there any plans for an iPhone version?

A:Yes. It's out.
Q: Are there any plans for an Android version?

A: Nope, not yet.
Q: Are there any plans for KOTOR 2?
A: Today we are excited to reveal and launch the iPad version of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic. We have no other news to share regarding upcoming Aspyr products, but please stay tuned!

Q: I get an error saying something about not enough “free space” to install the app.
A: An app install generally requires twice the size of the app in free space on your iPad. The download uses a temp file for the installer, so the space needed can be much more than the size of the app. This is especially true of large app files such as complex games and detailed map programs. Installing the App to your computer first should bypass this issue.

Q: Are cloud saves supported?

A: Players can manually transfer a single save through iCloud between their devices.

Sucks that you did not include the ability for iPad owners to download this. Couldn't have been that hard to make this compatible for ios5.

Britton: If we could have, we would have. The first gen iPad just could not handle it.

    Hello,

I bought KOTOR on the iPad 3 (iOS 6.1.3) when I try to download the app, a message pops up( attached image) saying that I do not have enough free space. I have 4.1 GB free and the game is just shy of 1.9, so I'm stumped.

I downloaded a few apps to see if it was a download problem and they are fine.

    Any ideas what is happening?

The download fails at about 65% every time with a "Unable to downfall at this time" message. Have tried several times with no success.

Still no fix for audio problems.

We have not seen any sound issues at all.

Only thing I can suggest is powering down your iPad and seeing if that helps.

If the download is failing, you might want to log out of your account and try to log back in. We can't really do much about connectivity issues with the AppStore. If problems persist after logging out of your AppStore account, I recommend contacting Apple.

I found that, when paused, if I tap on an object or NPC, unpausing will send my

character running to that spot, with no apparent way to cancel the action. Is there any way to cancel that movement command?

    Thanks in advance.

To those w/ no sound... I know this is a stupid question, but are you sure your mute switch isn't on? I've seen this happen to people.

I have an iPad2 w/ 64gb and it installed perfectly, and performs like silk.

    Good Morning!

Ok those of you with sound issues here is what you need to do:

On your iPad: go to SETTINGS>GENERAL>USE SIDE SWITCH TO

    and set it to MUTE.

Then toggle the MUTE switch on the iPad to make sure you are not muted.

Having this function set improperly will not mute your whole iPad (you can still play some Apps and listen to music etc).

You are basically just defining the behavior for the mute toggle on the side of your iPad.

Hope this helps. enjoy the game.

We are also getting some questions and concerns about movement problems.

There are many movement options in game if people want to customize their experience.

These are found under Options > Gameplay (either from the Main Menu or in-game under the Options tab).

I read that it's only in English, but there is any plans to update the game with the subtitles in other language?

    Thanks!

Hey! Anyone know if the iPad game contains the Yavin Station content that was originally download-only for Xbox (and is now unavailable)? Thanks!

    Dani

I've read in the TouchArcade forums that you can substitute the language archive from the PC version to set the game to other languages. Are you thinking about making the PC language archives available for download? Sure, there will be things like "click on the left button to..." instead of "touch on the number to...", but I'm sure people would understand the game in their mother tongue (with those PC-specific words) much better than in English. Thanks.

Frankbrown221 Yavin Station is present .

Dani As far as languages go, we only support English language and do not recommend replacing or tinkering with any files.

We dont currently have plans for localization right now.

Maybe you can answer my question, now that the "mute" issue is resolved?

I found that, when paused, if I tap on an object or NPC, unpausing will send my

character running to that spot, with no apparent way to cancel the action. Is there any way to cancel that movement command?

Sorry Gee. Unfortunately, there is no cancel movement command.

Gee Lampa As far as I know, there never was.

Daniel, google for corrupted downloads on iPad. Maybe it's the download registry that is corrupted in your iPad. You have to access the download log through iExplorer or similar. Happens sometimes. It's not game related, but Apple related. Same goes for iTunes downloads: try re-setting Internet Explorer as the default web browser. It sometimes fixes the impossibility of downloading programs. I know, relationship between iTunes and IE sounds silly, but it works. And again, it's not game related, but Apple related.
