SimCity 4 Deluxe FAQ

Q: Can I exchange my original disk version for the new App Store or Steam release?

A: The release of SimCity4 Deluxe marks the first digital release of the game since the original release in 2003.  Considerable development time and effort went into making this game available on the AppStore/Steam and we hope you enjoy the updates!

As is our policy with all digital releases of out-of-distribution boxed product, we cannot give out free or replacement downloads for people who own the disc version of the game.

The game is currently available now exclusively on the Mac App Store and Steam for $19.99.  Additionally, if you sign up for a Gameagent.com account, you can instantly be notified if the game goes on sale by adding the game to your wish list.

Q: Can I move my saved regions between Macs?

A: Yes!  The App Store release stores region files in (App Store)User/Library/Containers/com.aspyr.simcity4.appstore/Data/Documents or (Steam) Documents/Aspyr/SimCity 4 Deluxe.

OSX 10.7 and up now hide this directory, so please press cmd+shift+G to bring up a search window in Finder and type in '~/library' to access this directory.

However, please be advised that any downloaded content from the internet is not supported for this version.

Q: How do I use the command prompting to activate downloaded content within the game?

A: The command prompting functionality is not supported with the App Store re-release of SimCity 4 Deluxe.  We will be removing it fully in an update but it is not supported as the forum instructions are for the PC version.
