UPDATE (7.2.2018) :

The Civilization VI Spring 2018 update is now live on Steam for Mac!  Coming Soon for Linux!

Q: Thanks, Aspyr!  So what fixes can we expect with the update?

A: There’s 12 new historic moments, Governor balance tweaks, AI fixes, and more!  Full patch notes can be viewed HERE.

Q: And cross-platform multiplayer? Can I FINALLY play versus my PC friends?

A: Sadly, not just yet.  As always, it is our target to get you folks playing with Windows players ASAP but we don’t want to make promises until we know for sure.  Our focus is always to sync content first, then work towards a stable cross-platform experience. Unfortunately, we haven’t hit that milestone with 2K yet.

Please click the FOLLOW button at the top of this article to be notified of any updates to this KB.

In the meantime, you can still join the Mac Steam Community to get your multiplayer matches going.

If you're unsure as to what your Mac specs are, please check out this post:

You can also open a ticket with us and attach your 'About this Mac' screen so we can help!

Q: Why am I getting a “VERSION MISMATCH WITH HOST” error?
A: This comes from trying to join a cross-platform multiplayer game with a PC player.

**PC/MAC cross-platform is not currently available on Steam**

Q: Why aren’t retina display resolutions available in the Graphics Options?
A: Retina resolution support is not yet available for Civilization VI but we're looking into updating the game to add them.  Double check that you have your System Preferences/Displays option is set to More Space to enable higher resolutions in game.

Q: HELP! I can't select a Great Person from the Great People screen...WHAT DO I DO?!

A: There's a small unsuspecting bar at the bottom of the screen that you'll need to move to view all available Great People.

Q: Why is the audio is only coming through in Chinese, regardless of the language setting I have the game on?
A: This is a result of running the game on a case-sensitive formatted hard drive which isn’t supported for any of our games.  We recommend partitioning your hard drive and reformatting that partition to the OSX standard Journaled HFS+ using your Disk Utility app and installing the game there.
