Looking to mod your Sims 2 game with some package files? Want to install custom content from the community, or perhaps you'd like to create your own Sims in a character creator? Maybe you want to share your Sims and lots with other players. Below are links and instructions for downloading and installing the Sims 2 Body Shop and Package Installer, which will let you install and customize your Sims 2 game.
Before Starting
Launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection at least once prior to using The Sims™ 2 Body Shop or Package Installer

The Sims™ 2 Extras.dmg contains two applications that allow you to expand your Sims™ 2 experience!
What is The Sims™ 2 Body Shop?
The Sims™ 2 Body Shop allows you to design and customize your Sims, as well as share them with your friends.
What is The Sims™ 2 Package Installer?
The Sims™ 2 Package Installer allows you to install your friend’s Sims and Lots into your Sims™ 2 neighborhoods.
Installing The Sims™ 2 Extras
- Download The Sims™ 2 Extras.dmg file.
- Once the download has finished, double-click The Sims™ 2 Extras.dmg.
- After The Sims™ 2 Extras window has opened, drag The Sims™ 2 Body Shop and The Sims™ 2 Package Installer into the applications folder.
- After the files have copied to your applications folder, close The Sims™ 2 Extras window.
- Drag The Sims™ 2 Extras icon from your desktop to the trash to eject the The Sims™ 2 Extras.dmg (this will not delete the file from your machine).
Creating, Sharing and Installing Sims
Creating Sims
- Launch The Sims™ 2 Body Shop.
- Select Build Sims from the top menu options.
- Select Build or Clone Sims.
- Select the Plus (+) to create a new Sim.
- Customize your new Sim.
- Once you are happy with your Sim’s look, select Done Building Sim.
- The next time you launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, the newly created Sim will be in the Create A Sim Sim Bin.
If you do not see your custom Sims in-game, try restarting the game.
Sharing Sims
- Launch The Sims™ 2 Body Shop.
- Select Build Sims from the top menu options.
- Select Package Sims.
- Select the Sim you wish to share.
- Select Package Sim to File.
- Provide your Sim with a name and description.
- Select Accept.
- A .Sims2Pack file will appear on your desktop using the Sims name.
Installing Sims
- Double-click on the .Sims2Pack file of the Sim you would like to install.
- Select Install inside The Sims™ 2: Package Installer to complete the installation.
- The next time you launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, the newly installed Sim will be in the Create A Sim Sim Bin.
In order to see the Sim in the Sim bin, you must select the appropriate gender and age of the Sim. Elderly Sims will not show up in the Teenager bin, for example. Young Adult sims can only be seen when creating a Sim while in a Sims™ 2 University neighborhood.

Creating Custom Parts
The Sims™ 2 Body Shop allows you to not just create Sims, but to also create and modify their clothes and appearance.
Modifying clothes and appearance will require the use of additional graphic software.
- Launch The Sims™ 2 Body Shop.
- Select Create Parts from the top menu options.
- Select Start New Project.
- Select the Sim part to create (Genetics, Facial Hair, Makeup & Glasses or Clothing).
- Select the part to modify.
- Select Export Selected Textures.
- Enter and accept the project name.
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter the following location in the text field: ~/library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/Projects/
- Select the folder that matches your current project’s name.
- Using your preferred graphic editing software, modify the graphic files in this folder.
- Once you're happy with your changes, return to The Sims™ 2 Body Shop.
- Select Import to Game.
- The next time you launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, your newly created Sims part will be accessible when creating a Sim.
At any time you can make changes to an existing project by selecting Load Project instead of selecting Start New Project.
Sharing Custom Parts from The Sim2™ 2 Body Shop
In order to share Custom Parts, you first have to import them into The Sims™ 2: Super Collection.
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter the following location in the text field: ~/library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/SavedSims/
- Look for the .package file with the name of the project you wish to share. Note: These files may begin with random numbers and letters followed by an underscore. The project name comes after the underscore.
- Copy this file to your desktop.
Feel free to rename the file after copying it to your desktop. Just make sure to keep the .package at the end!
Installing Custom Parts
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter the following location in the text field: ~/library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/SavedSims/
- Drag and drop the .package file of the Custom Part into the SavedSims folder.
- The next time you launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, your newly create Sims part will be accessible when creating a Sim.
Sharing and Installing Lots
Sharing Lots from within The Sims™ 2: Super Collection
- Launch Sims™ 2: Super Collection.
- Find the lot you would like to share.
- Select the lot, but don’t enter it.
- Select the info button on the lot information screen.
- Select Package Lot.
- Select Package Lot to a file.
- Select Accept.
- A dialogue window will tell you where to find your newly packaged lot.
For a quick way to access your lots:
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter the following location in the text field: ~/library/Containers/com.aspyr.sims2.appstore/Data/Library/Application Support/Aspyr/The Sims 2/PackagedLots/
Installing Lots
- Double-click on the .Sims2Pack file of the lot you would like to install.
- Select Install inside The Sims™ 2: Package Installer to complete the installation.
- The next time you launch The Sims™ 2: Super Collection, the newly installed lot will be in the Lots & Houses Bin in game.
The first time you open a .Sims2Pack file you may receive a warning dialogue saying “You are opening the Application “The Sims™ 2: Package Installer” for the first time. Are you sure you want to open this application? If you see this warning, select Open.
It is recommended that when packaging lots from existing neighborhoods (such as Veronaville) that the lot be placed in the same neighborhood.
